Good...So Far

Credit Karma Member

Credit Karma said I had a poor chance of recieving this card and recommended a secured card, but I applied anyway. I was notified of approval and recieved my card within two weeks. I called customer service, paid my $89 processing fee and within minutes the card was active. I have my online account set up and payments are set up to be paid in full each month. So far...so good!

Payment verification policy is crazy

Credit Karma Member

Paid all the fees, right away. Then I used the line almost to the 300 limit. Then, I paid it in full. I was aware of the long 'hold' on funds I was warned about in the terms. No problem, right? A week later I get a letter in the mail saying they need me to verify suspicious activity and not to attempt use of the card. Thought it was strange because I had no balance, but I called. To my surprise the rep tells me that because of my 'very large payment' (Which was like 280 bucks) they need to verify I am the owner of the account and the only way to reinstate the card is to send them a bank statement proving it is my bank account and that it must show my balance before and after the payment. Again, I just paid tons of fees, made a payment that cleared and now I can't even use the lousy card without jumping through these hoops. My friends: this card is a BAD DEAL. You are better off with one of the other sub prime cards, I have honestly never felt so scammed.
