What you need to know about the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card

If you’re a small-business owner looking for a business credit card, you might be considering the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card — especially since it has no annual fee. Plus, having a business credit card can help you build up your business credit score.

Here’s what else you need to know about this business credit card from Chase.

0% introductory purchase APR

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card has a 0% introductory APR for purchases for 12 months from account opening. After that, the purchase APR will be a variable rate of 17.74% - 25.74%.

This intro APR might be great if you plan to make a big purchase in the first year you have the card. But to take full advantage of the potential cost savings, you’ll want to make sure you pay off your balance before the first year is up. Otherwise, you’ll owe interest.

Sign-up bonus

You’ll also get a $350 sign-up bonus after making at least $3,000 in purchases during the first 3 months and an additional $400 when you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first 6 months after account opening.

This may sound like a steep price to pay, but if you’re planning to make a big business purchase anyway, it’s a quick way to score some easy cash back.

Bonus categories have limitation

You’ll earn 5% cash back when you shop at office supply stores or pay for internet, cable or phone services with your card — on up to $25,000 in purchases each year.

The same $25,000 limit applies to the 2% cash back rate when you dine out or get gas. Once you hit the limit for bonus category purchases, you’ll get the card’s standard 1% cash back rate that applies to all other purchases.

These bonus categories might not be useful for all businesses. If you have a remote work model or don’t travel to visit clients or have business meals, you might not be able to take advantage of the extra cash back — so consider whether this is the card for you before making the choice.

Who this card is good for

This card is probably best for a small-business owners looking to make a big purchase in the first year of having the card. This way you can take advantage of the sign-up bonus and introductory 0% APR offer.

It could also be a good fit for small businesses that spend regularly on office supplies, telecom expenses or regular dining or gas purchases. To max out this card’s rewards potential, you’ll need to spend enough on business expenses that fall into the two highest bonus categories.

Not sure this is the card for you? Consider these alternatives.

Account shut down

Credit Karma Member

RIDICULOUS customer service and experience. I've had this credit card for almost a year when they suddenly asked me to verify my business name and address - I immediately faxed AND mailed back the appropriate information. After several weeks and receiving a second letter saying they still had not received my information, I called customer service and spoke to someone who reassured me they had all the documents they need and I should be all set. Fast forward to today, I realized my account has been CLOSED and several of my recurring business payments have been denied. I finally got through to customer service again and they said there was an issue verifying my address - I had sent in all the appropriate documentation to verify that my address is correct. Instead of reaching out to me directly about this "issue", Chase chose to shut down my very active account. I have charged over 100k so far this year and now my business is disrupted by this closed account. They told me the minimum time to reinstate the account is 48 business hrs which is entirely too long for an active business. Absolutely ridiculous experience, do not recommend.
